Acceptance Postcard

So about two to three weeks instead of a packet of information like DCP use to you receive a cute personalized post card about your acceptance that just informs you to log on to the website! I was ecstatic receiving mine so here is a preview.

Application Process

Hi again,

So my first point of advice for potential Disney College Program applicants is to log onto Disney College Program Blog and sign up for email updates. Then as soon as the applications are up you will receive an email. I applied the day the application was up so I think that really helped me by starting early. First step of the application is a normal application name, past work experience, college etc. (Also before you submit the application save a copy/print it, then you can see what you rank different jobs later on). You will receive an email telling you the next steps in a few days. I received mine in about an hour telling me I was selected to go on to step two, a Web-Based Interview. This interview is a series of multiple choice questions simple to do just stay focus and try to do in a quite place without distractions, also beware this section is timed about 40 minutes. Step three is the phone interview, after the web-based interview you will find out if you can schedule a telephone interview. This is the last step before you find out if you are accepted into the program.
The interview is about 15 minutes, mine was about 20 minutes, and my guess is the more you have to talk about with the recruiter the better. My interview was really enjoyable. I had some notes in my room to remind myself of points I wanted to talk about things that made me stand out, and questions to ask at the end. Below are some questions I found to prep for the interview. I found some on other blogs that are asked during the interview process. About a week before my interview I wrote out responses to each of these questions and reviewed them to have an understanding of what I wanted to say. The worst thing I could have done during the interview was just blubber on the phone and not know what to say. I also did found out a bit of info about the company, not just the theme park but also the TV programs and all.  Be calm and remember to smile during the interview. Even if they cannot see you it helps to keep you calm and friendly! Good Luck to you all!

The Start of Keep Calm and Think Disney...

Hi all!

As you all probably already know, I was accepted into the Disney College Program. (Most likely because this is all Italk about now!) I will be moving to Orlando during the summer to attend this program in… WALT DISNEY WORLD!
You probably couldn't tell but I am ecstatic about this! I really cannot believe that this is happening to me, I am starting to really learn about my career path. I grew up with Disney, watching the movies and even enjoying the parks so I am crazy excited to start working.
Anyway my point is while applying for this program I came across multiple blogs that had bits and pieces of advice and now I want to put them all in it into one place for new DCP applicants to see. I’ve been getting a lot of questions about the whole program when ever I tell people about this program so I thought I’d put it all in a blog.
This post is to pretty much to announce the start of Keep Calm and Think Disney…I will also be posting about the application process and making videos about my experience while I’m in Orlando.
